Dear Friends,

Seems an elderly gentleman had serious hearing problems for a number of years. He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100%. The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, “Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again.” To which the gentleman said, “Oh, I haven’t told my family yet. I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I’ve changed my will three times!”

Three cheers to the old man. I have had several clients recently who are settling their deceased parents estates. I can't tell you how many hours and trouble it has been to clean up the mess their dear mother unknowingly left them.

I want to encourage you to do 2 things:
1. Have that talk with your parents. Have they done any estate planning?  The answer to this question will affect you someday. It could have huge consequences for you and your family as I have seen recently with several clients. Poorly planned estate plans invite contention with heirs. Don't allow this to happen to you and your siblings or to your heirs someday.  Which brings me to #2: Get your estate planning in order. What are you waiting for? Is there a hard decision you cannot make? That's common enough but the reality is: It probably won't get easier. Just make the best decision you can and remember you can always change it if need be. Call me if you need a referral for a good estate planning attorney. With the death tax returning next year, This is the time to get 'er done.

You'll be shocked to read the article below about the huge new taxes coming next year. It's worse than I realized before doing the research. Get Ready !!

I hope you are enjoying the summer.

Stay cool !! It's really hot out there

Secular Bear Market.....what you don't know will hurt you

Secular Bear Market.....what you don't know will hurt you

We didn’t hear much about it during the optimism of the 2003-2007 bull market, nor since the current cyclical bull market began a year ago. But it is pretty much agreed that when the market topped out in March 2000 it was the end of the long 1982-2000 secular bull market, and beginning of a 2000 to who knows when Secular Bear Market.
